cubicsdr

cubicsdr is another graphical SDR receiver, in the same family as gqrx but with its own take on the interface — a large, fluid waterfall and an easy click-and-drag tuning model that some people simply find nicer to use. It demodulates the usual analog modes and supports the same SDR hardware through SoapySDR. Having both installed lets you pick whichever receiver you get on with; they cover the same ground.

cubicsdr is a graphical application, so Oniomarchy launches it into its own window from Security → Software Defined Radio → cubicsdr. Installed from the AUR.

Using it

1. Choose your device from the picker on launch.
2. Drag across the waterfall to tune and set bandwidth in one motion.
3. Select a demodulation mode from the toolbar and listen.
4. Run multiple demodulators at once — CubicSDR can track several signals in the captured bandwidth simultaneously, which is handy for monitoring a busy band.

Like gqrx, it’s a live-listening and exploration tool; hand captured signals to urh or inspectrum for protocol work.
